Sowerby Bridge Bike Show

Six bikes on display before the show started, the sun came out later in the day and a good number of people came to support the charity event.

Peak District Ride Out (AKA The drop off ride out) – 13th May 2017

10 bikes attended the ride out, within the first 20 miles we had numerous bits drop off Norton’s (headlight, footrest and brake master cylinder cap!), but is was another very good day with only a couple of showers over the higher ground.

First Ride Out of 2017

The first ride out of 2017 visited the Dales, this photo show’s the stunning Ribblehead viaduct in the background. 13 bikes joined the run which thankfully managed to avoid the rain showers, 130 miles were covered in the day.

Thanks to Russ Ward for setting up the new branch Facebook site, you can now easily let us know what you are doing with regard to your Norton or just keep up to date with things that other members are doing. Branch activities are also being posted on the pages.

NOC AGM & Branch Secretaries Meetings

Both meetings took place at the Coventry Motor Museum over the weekend of 1st / 2nd April 2017, general attendance levels were good and the Yorkshire Branch was represented at both events.

Yorkshire Branch Christmas Dinner

Instead of having a normal branch meeting in December, members voted to have a Christmas dinner in the Marsh Inn instead, 16 members attended the festive event (sorry no pictures!!!).

Ride Out 27th August

Five bikes (7 people) attended the ride out which the weather forecast predicted would be dry (it was wrong!!!), The first stop was at ‘The Carding Shed’ at Hepworth near Holmfirth which is well worth a visit for classic vehicle fans (hence the pic above). Heading into the High Peak area of Derbyshire the rain started to fall leaving Glossop and never stopped after that for the duration of the ride out. 90 miles were covered on the run on great roads (even if a lot of them were wet!).
