Feedback from the attendee’s – need we say any more!

To all of the Yorkshire Branch. Well done! What a fabulous Rally with great facillities in a perfect location. Both rides were hugely enjoyable, the showers were hot, the food was great and the food aid and water at Hawes were very much appreciated. It was nice to put names to faces and meet with old friends. It was also the first Norton rally I’ve attended where deafening music at glass shattering decibels was not audible from the tent. I thought you got the ballance of everything dead right. Thanks also to Andy Lodge for his tireless work on trhe yellow Commando rescuing the lost sheep who had strayed off the designated routes. You all deserve the highest praise.
I’m sure you have had a flurry of emails already expressing similar sentiments. I’m equally sure many more will follow.
Warm regards to all.

Harry Atkinson
East Yorks Branch

I just wanted to thank the NOC Yorkshire Branch for their excellent hard work in making this year’s event such a success. Personally my wife, friends & I had a wonderful time while and ride outs were up there with the very best and winning the prize for best Commando was the icing on the cake for me personally as it was hit or miss that I was going to get my bike there due to a mechanical problem.
Please pass on my gratitude to all involved and I look forward to getting over  there with my Norton again soon.

Best regards Mark Mowbray
Market Rasen, Linc’s

Once again, many thanks for the excellent way in which the Yorkshire
team organised the Rally. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Best wishes

Tim Harrison

Just a note to say how impressed I was with the facilities & organisation at the Skipton rally site. This was the first NOC rally I have attended and it was well worth the trip (1950 Big Four on M6 and M65, not ideal!). Please pass on my thanks & good wishes to all your fellow Yorkshire branch members.

Yours Sincerely Bob Hay (Wolverhampton)
P.S. Nearly forgot, thank you for the £16 rebate. Very nice gesture. Spent most of it with Neil Shoesmith & the rest on Black Sheep.

I enjoyed Yorkshire and truly hope to come again, with perhaps a better weather and less bike problems.

Kind regards
Alain Kovac (France)

Well done and thanks, even the wet didn’t matter (much) At least we had sun on the Saturday (until tea time) so a bonus!

NORTON RALLY A GREAT SUCCESS image

Hard work and a bit of luck with the weather!

After a year of planning, the weekend saw Skipton RFC hosting the Norton Owners’ Club International Rally with 249 Norton enthusiasts from the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Holland, Norway, Italy, Belgium as well as from all over the British Isles registering at the event with the majority using the club’s facilities for camping and the remainder patronising bed and breakfast accommodation in the town. The club offered a full English breakfast with unlimited tea, coffee and toast and preserves, good value home cooked food on Friday and Sunday and a hog roast on the Saturday night. Committee and club members were on hand at all times and worked extremely hard to ensure that the event went smoothly. The club was proud to host this event and made some new friends who are sure to go back to their homes with good memories of their rally, Yorkshire and Skipton RFC.

Great rally! Thumbs up for all the effort put into it by the boys and girls from the Yorkshire branch and the rugby club. Flash, thanks from Hennie for the tee-shirt!
Bennie Hulshof, Netherlands

First of all congrats on a first class event for your Norton International at Skipton,  which I really enjoyed. I am not a member but have been a life long Norton enthusiast and only live 2/3 miles out of Skipton, so I visited on both saturday & sunday. It certainly made my day seeing four Inters together.

The Skipton Rally was absolutely brill, both myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it.

In fact, we stayed up for an extra week and toured the Yorkshire Dales.

Eric Arnold – Bristol Branch Secretary

I know I am a bit late after the event but I would like to thank you for a very enjoyable rally that you prepared for us last weekend.

I appreciate the work that you and your fellow members have gone to organise the event and you have helped to wet my appetite for more trips to the Yorkshire Dales.

Best Regards
Eric Foulkes

Thank you to the Yorkshire Branch members who organised the International Rally at Skipton. I had a great time. Good site, and a very attractive town. Well done, and thank you for the hard work you put in.

Additional comments will be added as they are received.

Reflections from the Yorkshire branch team – Nothing like this goes perfectly and there were a few issues, the toilet and shower facilities on the site were adequate but could have been better, one of the ride out’s on Saturday ended up with the group splitting up causing confusion and the hog roast ran out towards the end of the large que (due to 25% more people turning up than had booked). But these were small issues in what was otherwise a very good weekend.
