At long last Barrie Blayney (our beloved Chairman) has the 99 back on the road after his engine blow up and rebuild problems, he describes himself as 'One Happy Biker'.

Last planned ride out of 2013 – seven bikes took part in the run which was originally destined to go to Saltburn, however as the hill climb was cancelled and bad weather was forecast the group had a 120 mile run around North York’s, stopping in Thisk and Ripon. The journey home from Ripon was damp!

10 bikes joined the run (6 Norton’s) that took place in dry and very warm conditions (a welcome change from our last North West run!). Harry and Russ had wandered off when the photo was taken. Colin McConnachy from the South Lakes branch joined us at Devil’s Bridge for a chat. 166 miles were covered in the day.

Eleven bikes joined the run on Sunday 12th May, the photo was taken at Dick Turpins snack bar. Following the stop we made our way through lovely countryside, unfortunately the light then medium rain set in. Whilst riding in Yorkshire it was dry, in Lancashire it was wet, wet, wet!?! Definitiely a route to be retraced in dry conditions in the future. Well done to Peter and Suzanne Holland for planning the run. 146 miles were covered on the day.

The AGM was very well attended at the Heritage Motor Centre, which is an excellent venue. Mike Jackson was interviewed and gave an entertaining response, the highlight of the meeting was Stuart Garner’s attendance and address to the meeting about Norton Motorcycles, he reviewed the progress so far and the plans for the future, he left the impression that the marque is in safe competent hands.
